How Long Does Microblading Take to Heal?
I always like to tell my clients that Microblading is a process. The healing time of your eyebrow is actually different than the time it takes for your brow to be complete. This may sound confusing, so here is a break down of what to expect day by day.
- Day 1-10: You are going to be totally in love with your brows, however, since the skin is open and the brows are fresh, this is considered an open scab. You should not get your eyebrows wet for at least 10 days, and 2 weeks maximum, directly following your procedure. This is considered the most vital time of the healing process because it is when the ink is taking to the skin the most! After the initial ten days, all the scabbing should have subsided and you are ready to wash your brows again! This is considered “healed” however, it will take another three weeks before you see the color resurface to its true and final color.
- Day 10-14: After washing your eyebrows on day 11, they may appear much lighter than what you would expect. Fear not! Because the color will resurface.
- Day 14-28: At this point you will slowly start to see a resurfacing in color, and the true healed tone of hair will appear.
- Day 30-42: After 5 weeks your true color will appear! This is when you are ready for the “perfecting touch up”
The Perfecting Touch-Up
Although the perfecting touch-up is not required, it is Highly Recommended. It is about half the time of the initial appointment. At the end of the initial healing process approximately 85%-95% of the eyebrows remain, and that last 15-5% is done in perfecting touch-up.
